From Wastelands to Orchards
Jesus Christ came with an awesome commission: to seek and to save that which was lost; to redeem fallen creation and impart, hope, life and liberty. He came to set the captive free and to bring eternal emancipation to a lost world. Such was the intensity of His passion and the power of His message, that His life and death on the cross cut across time and initiated the greatest movement know to man, the Church. His words of spirit and truth brought life to the weary, health and vitality to the sick, hope to the fugitive, and integrity and character to the cheat. The victory of His resurrection and the power of the infilling of the Holy Spirit, which fell on His disciples on the day of Pentecost, produced men and women who turned the ancient world upside down.
Today, in the 21st century, we are partakers of that same Spirit. Baptized in His name, filled with His Spirit, we are presented with the greatest opportunity: to seek and to save that which was lost. Partnering with Jesus Christ to bring this whole gospel message to a world sick with sin and certain of destruction, we believe that the Lord is reaping a harvest of plenty in what appears to be a barren wasteland.
Jesus' ministry is one of supernatural transformation, and this miraculous process of bringing life out of death is what defines our passion and urgency to reach people.
Isaiah 61:1-3
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion. To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.
